The Lesson of the Day...

This week I have learned:

  • I can handle being sick, having a toddler & being the wife and the mom.
  • I can handle being sick and having a sick toddler with a semi-understanding husband.
  • I can handle having a sick toddler with a sick husband and being the wife & mom.
Today I learned:
  • The one thing that I cannot seem to handle is having a sick husband with a healthy toddler.
After our week of illness, no one wants us anywhere near them AND I completely understand.  Unfortunately, it was too cold to be outside for any long length of time {especially given our immune system right now} and CM got hit with one of the worst illnesses he has had in the six years we've been together.  First a cold/flu and then the stomach virus hit him Thursday night at midnight.  He slept for close to 22 out of the last 24 hours, some of which was spent on the bathroom floor.  Poor CB just didn't understand and every time he could sneak away from me, it was to "wake Daddy up" or "read Daddy a book" or "tell Daddy a 'tory."

We hit the store.  We paid bills.  We ran every conceivable errand I could think of.  We even went for a long drive.  We did flashcards, cleaned house, went through our kids Netflix queue, and picked out a special movie for tonight.  We even made up our own indoor hockey game.  Tomorrow we will set up the church, fill up the car, and pray that this bug only last 24 hours.

You know all of those things I needed to do this week?  I made two of 'em.

Christmas is going to kick my butt this year.
